“eSIM Not Supported” Error – What It Means
If you see the error “eSIM not supported” while installing your eSIM, your phone is most likely locked by your mobile carrier.
Many smartphones sold through mobile providers are locked due to contracts or financing plans. A locked device can only use SIMs or eSIMs from the original operator.
How to Check if Your iPhone Is Carrier Locked
- Open Device Information
- Go to Settings
- Tap General
- Tap About
- Check Carrier Lock Status
- Scroll to Carrier Lock
- If it shows SIM locked, your device is carrier locked
- If it shows No SIM restrictions, your device is unlocked
How to Resolve the Issue
If your phone is carrier locked, contact your mobile operator and request an unlock. Alternatively, use another device that supports unlocked eSIM functionality.
If your device shows No SIM restrictions but the error still appears, restart your phone and try installing the eSIM again.
If the issue continues, our 24/7 support team is ready to assist.
