Turkey's Mobile Regulation- Unregistered Phones

Using Your Phone in Turkey: Important Registration Requirements

Turkey enforces strict regulations on mobile devices brought from abroad. Any phone using local networks (with a local SIM/eSIM or even with roaming) is subject to a registration limit.

According to Turkish law, mobile phones that are not registered can be used for up to 90 days within a 120-day period

After this limit is reached, the device will be blocked from connecting to Turkish mobile networks, regardless of the operator or SIM/eSIM being used.

How to Check Your Device Status

You can verify whether your phone has been blocked by visiting the official IMEI inquiry page:

Enter your device’s IMEI number to see its current registration status.

How to Find Your IMEI:

  • Dial *#06#

  • The IMEI number will appear

  • Dual-SIM devices display two IMEI numbers — one for each SIM slot

It’s recommended to save your IMEI number somewhere safe in case you ever need to report or verify your device.

How to Unlock a Blocked Device

If your device has been blocked, the only solution is to pay the applicable registration tax.
You can inquire about this process in local operator shops across Turkey.

Please note that this is a government-imposed requirement and is outside our control.
